Her most notable role is Christy Huddleston (Christy) as part of the period show Christy", Rebecca Thatcher (Life Goes On); and Lucy Knight ("ER") in the medical drama ER". Also, she is known for appearing in the titular role in the "Hailey Dean Mystery" series. Martin was born to a department shop buyer and a kindergarten instructor. She began acting at seven years old when her aunt, who was the nanny of Michael Landon's family, helped Martin get a part as an actor on the 1982 television series Father Murphy. When she completed her studies at Yale University in 1982, Martin began to take her acting profession more serious. Her roles were significant on television as well as the big screen.
